Tuba Player/Head Librarian

  • Interacted with hundreds of people as part of public outreach after concerts and events such as the military display at the Canadian National Exhibition

  • Duties as a librarian included distributing and tracking music, creating a system for intake and re-filing of music, and maintaining organization of the music library resulting in smoother day-to-day operations

  • Initiated and oversaw a project to create an electronic catalogue of over 20 000 holdings

 

Canadian Forces Logistics and Training Centre, Music Division: 2014-2016

Tuba Instructor

  • Supervised courses of up to 40 students at a time.

  • Organized and ran team sports for all students on a regular basis to improve morale

  • Created new teaching tools such as practice logs to better prepare students for evaluations, leading to an 100% student success rate

  • Trained for and assumed Course Director duties

  • Wrote and delivered the ‘How to Practice’ lecture and supporting handouts
